Co-Curricular or Extracurricular Activity Participation

In Utah, a student may not enroll full-time at more than one public school at the same time.  Charter schools, including K-12 online schools, are public schools.  Therefore, a student who is attending K-12 online classes through a district or charter school may not be enrolled full-time in Jordan School District.

A charter or online school student is eligible to participate in an extracurricular activity not offered by the student’s charter school at their boundary (qualifying) school provided they meet the requirements set forth by the Utah Office of Administrative Rules (R277-494-Charter Online Home and Private Participation) and Utah Code §53G-6-704-705).

A charter or online school student is eligible to participate in co-curricular activities (up to three) not offered by the student’s charter school at their boundary (qualifying) school provided the charter or online school allows the student to participate in co-curricular courses at the qualifying school and all requirements are met which are set forth by the Utah Office of Administrative Rules (R277-494-Charter Online Home and Private Participation) and Utah Code  (§53G-6-704-705).

All course requirements expected of any full-time student will apply to co-curricular or extracurricular student participation such as eligibility, fees, attendance, discipline, and transportation.
